Unicorn Found

Single-horned 'Unicorn' deer found in Italy
Deer with single horn is found in nature preserve in Italy and nicknamed 'Unicorn'

By MARTA FALCONI, Associated Press

ROME -- A deer with a single horn in the center of its head -- much like the fabled, mythical unicorn -- has been spotted in a nature preserve in Italy, park officials said Wednesday.

“This is fantasy becoming reality," Gilberto Tozzi, director of the Center of Natural Sciences in Prato, told The Associated Press. "The unicorn has always been a mythological animal."
The 1-year-old Roe Deer -- nicknamed "Unicorn" -- was born in captivity in the research center's park in the Tuscan town of Prato, near Florence, Tozzi said.
He is believed to have been born with a genetic flaw; his twin has two horns.

The rest of the story can be read here with a photo of the unicorn deer also.

I remember as a child being told that the unicorn was just a mythical creature.
But in my heart and in my dreams, I knew it was real.

And now there is proof.

I can't wait to see my granddaughter this morning to show her the photo. She has been told that one of her favorite animals, the unicorn, doesn't exist. Boy, were we wrong!

If you research extinct animals, you may find a unicorn creature existed long ago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elasmotherium).

Hey, Bear Naked - we think alike. Of course the unicorn is real! And so are fairies - if you look closely. I see them all the time in my garden.

I knew it! I love unicorns. My oldest daughter, Jenna and I have always loved them and have a bunch of them hanging around. I'll have to let her know what you found out.
