Originally, I was to have Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff repair early on Monday morning.
That day my orthopaedic surgeon also found that I had an Impingement of the Shoulder.
So I had a subacromial decompression also.
That procedure can be seen here.
They were both out-patient operations, so I was able to go home early Monday evening.
I am wearing a sling on the arm and using Polar Care cold therapy.
The doctor said to continue taking the Percocet every four hours for pain relief.
I am to have the dressings removed next week and in two weeks time will be told when I can start physiotherapy again.
Sleeping is difficult because the only way I am partially comfortable is to be sitting up.
But the most difficult thing is no showers until the dressings are removed next week!
Thank you to everyone for your kind get well wishes.

Hi from Lynda (GrannyK). I got here from Bob's place and just wanted to wish you well in your recovery.
I tore my shoulder 3 years ago pulling a too-heavy suitcase out of the back of a station wagon, so I really feel for you!
It's nice to meet another arctophile, and I love your bear pictures.

Poor bear! I felt a surge of sympathy the minute I saw the picture.

Seriously, I hope all goes well and you're back to your old self soon.
I have a nice foam wedge I use to sleep half-sitting up all the time. Hope you have something like that. It makes life so much easier.

Bear, get your colouring books and crafts and head over. I am only good sitting up today as well. Sleeping was tough. I can swap you Tylenol 3's for percocets.
Best wishes!

Oh my goodness that sounds painful. Percocet is your friend.

Do you have a recliner that you could sleep in? When my son was born he only wanted to be held and so for any of us to get any sleep I spent many nights with him on my chest in the recliner quasi-sitting up but at least back enough that I could sleep.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.
