ABC Wednesday-J

When JACK FROST comes
Oh the fun!
He plays pranks on everyone.
He'll pinch your nose,
He'll bite your toes.
But where he lives
Why nobody knows.
He paints upon the windowpanes,
Tin soldiers, Bears
And choo-choo trains.
He nips the leaves
From off the trees,
This little man whom no one sees.

Frost is a weather condition that occurs when the prevailing temperature falls below 0°C (32°F). It is recognized by the icy deposit that forms; but if the air is very dry this will not occur.
*
As a young child, I could sit for hours mesmorized by the frost patterns that
JACK FROST painted on my bedroom window.
*
Unfortunately, now with the newer and more energy efficient windows in the houses,
JACK FROST no longer visits me.
*
ABC Wednesday is brought to you by Mrs. Nesbitt.
Mr.Linky can be found here.

That's quite a bear! And the poem is fun. You remind me of childhood in cold Chicago--I'd make fingerprints in the thickly frosted windows.
It's still in the high 80s here in Jerusalem. I'll be happy for just the first rain. Enjoy your frost and autumn!

What a nice poem! I learned a few new expressions, like Jack Frost and being on one's Jack Jones.

Your bear is lovely!

I remember jack frost on the windows when a child - now it is true with central heating it doesn't happen so often.

In France, we don't know "Jack frost"
"le bonhomme Hiver " is an old
idiomatic expression,it's not not a character.
I love the poem and the Teddy bear( cute as usual)
It reminds of me drawing on frosty windows in my childhood...

Our first home was a rented farm cottage with no central heating, and it was at the top of a hill, so caught all the wind in winter. I remember waking up on winter mornings and being unable to see out of the window till we'd scraped the frost off the inside! Beautiful, leafy swirls in delicate crystal!

Very evocative post!

Such a lot to catch up on as I've been 'away' for over a week. Like you, I love Autumn and mention of Jack Frost brought back childhood meeories of beautiful patterns on the window pane in the mornings. Also, I'm so pleased to have discovered another Sandy at I Beati.

The bear is adorable and I do remember the patterns that Jack used to leave on the windows. I have not thought of them for years. Thanks for the memory.

I'm out here on the west coast, so we only see Jack rarely, thank goodness...

I just finished with Mrs. Nesbitt's frost on her site, now more thoughts of winter. Can we just skip winter and go straight to spring? This little guy is cute, though, even if he reminds me of winter.

Poor Bear so cold he turned blue!

Jack Frost is much better.

Yes, I have a friend named Xerxes. Unfortunately, that was from over 20 years ago and I don't have a picture of him. Drat!

Kisses from Nydia.

PS: Every time now I eat a Toblerone bar (like right now), I have to look at the bear in disguise - I have already told everyone about it, LOL

Adorable bear. Never had a heated house a a kid. We used to put hot pennies on the glass so we could peer through the frost...brrrrrr!!

He looks a little blue, Bear. LOL Get it? He is beautiful. Another great post. I think I did it right this time. I actually got on the main site for a change.

I'm in no hurry for jack frost to get here

Baino said...

I remember patterns on the window panes they were amazing. We rarely get frost on our block due to a canopy of trees but we've had a few this winter. Now the sun is shining and frost gives way to dew!

Bear, Jack Frost visits here often. I will take a picture and send it to you when he does make a trip here. HE won't be here for a while yet, but rest assured he'll be here.

Love the bear, as always.
