Provoking Palin’s Inner Bear

By Julie Bosman

"{Just call her Mama Bear.
Gov. Sarah Palin said Sunday that the hardest part about public life as the Republican vice-presidential nominee was the news media coverage of her children. That, Ms. Palin said, brought out the grizzly bear in her.
“The toughest thing has been the shots taken against the kids, against the family,” said Ms. Palin, according to a partial transcript of an interview with WWOR, a television station that serves New York City. “They’re my kids. The mama grizzly bear in me comes out, makes me “It’s a little bit unfair there. It has nothing to do with taking the country in a new direction.” I want to rear up on my hind legs and say, ‘Wait a minute.’ "}

Now tell me how I could NOT resist posting this here on my blog.
Just click on the link to see the interview.

And I guess this is how Mama bears take care of their cubs.
Palin children travelled on state dime

Edited to add:
Mama Bear has to look good.
Republican party spent $150K on Palin's clothes

It frustrates me when politicians complain about their children being in the media...and then sit for a photo shoot so they can be on the cover of People with their children. Then play up whatever issues their children have for a few extra votes. It's so hypocritical.

I guess all those clothes she had to wear in her role as governor weren't good enough.

Where does a person keep $150K worth of clothes? Oh, perhaps it is in one of the multiple houses they own, where multiple is, "I don't know how many houses I own."

Not that she said that. I'm just sayin'.

I can't say that this article surprises me. It's just disgusting. Isn't there something about a silk purse and a sow's ear? But such a waste of money isn't nearly so bad as the words that come out of her mouth and the ideas that she tries to plant in the minds of her public.

Your bear's no grizzly!
I don't hear much about the poor young man who HAS to marry into this family!

Bear, she's now a public figure and anyone who chooses such ridiculous names for their children is begging for attention whether or not they're running for Vice President. You can't make your living out of fame (or infamy) and not expect your family to be in the limelight. Isn't one of her 'strengths' the fact that she's a 'hockey mom' and family gal. . .pelease . .and she may one day be president. God save us one and all! I must say, as an Australian (and we are indeed a baby US) it heartens me to see so many bloggers who do not approve of her appointment. Oh and have you heard of her endorsement of shooting wolves and bear via plane? The woman's an environmental disaster waiting to happen *gets off soapbox*

The Bear analogy has played right into your paws hasn't it? Seriously though, I can't believe that so many Americans support this woman. She's a disaster!

How much did you pay for your bear suit????? :-)

Oh Bear...I do so love your Blog,, and your Bears. For one as deprived of Bear love as I, it is a daily fix.

Palin scares me, and the thought that she is...no no scrub that, could one day be a heart beat away from the presidnecy of the USA is enough to give me nightmares, for, no matter how we might want to believe that we are an independent nation, we are all linked, this new financial crisis for instance.
I can only hope that the voters are not fooled by her down home spiel.

I become nauseous when I think of the possibility of her being our president. I'd have to move to Canada.

(Your bears are just wonderful!)

I tried to guess yesterday what you might post but this was not one of my guesses.

And it is better than anything my imagination came up with!

I really don't care about the clothes money. In the list of things that are so disturbing about this woman and her campaign clothes are the least of it.

As for her children - they certainly should be left to be. Perhaps she should stop dragging them from campaign rally to campaign rally. Or if she feels the need to travel with them (I get that) then perhaps she should NOT drag them on stage with her.

it seems the "obama-bots" are still out in full force ---and looks like their boy is gonna win----now we will have a new sacrificial lamb to blame things on---taxes will go up starting next year, welcome to the tax and spend era.

I cannot wait til this woman's 15 minutes of lies is over ... go home, Sarah, there's an ice floe waiting for you ...

Daryl said...

Gary .. FYI .. no matter who wins taxes go up ... how can anyone not see that? The country is about to be flushed down the toilet thanks to the Repugs last 8 yrs of mismanagement of a war we never ever should have gotten into.

Too bad they didn't spend some money on sex-ed.

I respect Palin's devotion to her family as I think she is probably a pretty good mom...and I think the clothing issue is a typical Republican staffing stupidity. She is too dense to ask how much the clothes were costing or even realize that it might be inappropriate for someone who represents herself as a soccer mom. I did read that even if they go to charity she will have to pay taxes as if they were a gift...ouch! I do agree that her philosophy and agenda are way off the scales in terms of intelligent, reasonable, constitutional and safe. I don't trust anyone who thinks they know more about what the Public Library should purchase than the library board which is very conservative in how the little money they have is spent.

Our election here is a circus. I guess blame can go in three area.
The media, politicians, and the people.

I'm doing a meme (monthly) called in the know. Stop over and read about it.

It makes me mad that the media is digging up every tiny shred of stuff on her but they aren't talking about how much BO or Biden spend on their clothes and I'll bet you it's a ton of money too!!! grrrrrrrr.....

Ha, ha, you got the comments flowing today. Pic of Mama bear is cute.

Cute bear. BHO has spent plenty on his fancy suits, too - it isn't just a one way street, just a one way report from the leftist media. Me, I don't like any of them. Wake me up when we get a moderate party that is more in tune with the majority of Americans who are probably not extreme left or extreme right but are probably closer to center.

My blog post today is dedicated to you, Bear - hope you can stop by and see all the teddy bears. :)
