A Question For the Ladies

Yesterday, Mental P Mama blogged about her Tattoo.
I don't have a tattoo but have always wanted to have permanent eyeliner tattooed.

The ONLY thing that is stopping me from getting this done is sheer panic that it will hurt like crazy if I were to do this.

So tell me, has anyone had this done, are you happy with the results and the most important question on a scale of 1 to 10, how much did it hurt?

The only person who touches my eyes is my eye doctor or eye surgeon. Just call me chicken!

I had my lips tattooed and intended to do my eyeliner but they made the mistake of letting me get up and go to the bathroom and I saw myself in the mirror and freaked out.....then I backed out on the eyeliner.

On a scale of 1-10 the dadgum deadening shots they gave me inside my lips hurt like about an 11. Worst pain I've ever had but someone told me it was because the insensitive nurse didn't know how to give those shots and you have to do it really slowly or it hurts like hell. After that pain....I was good to go....but....well, I should post the pictures and tell you all about it. LOL

Call me old-fashioned! I hate any sort of tattoo. Sorry!

First of all, I love that bear.

I haven't even pierced my ears and I'm 43 years old, so needles and my eyes are not gonna happen.

However, there's a lady around here who had it done. I've never asked her about the pain, but she is very happy with it.

I got 2 tattoos. One on my arm and one on my lower back. The pain differ a lot depending on where on the body one gets the tattoo done. The first one wasn't really that painful. But the latter one did hurt like ¤&%#! And after that one I said never ever again. But less than a year later I got a third one planned. ;)

I don't care for tattoos and I don't ever wear eye-liner, so it's not for me.

I would be afraid to have it done; if the doc (or whomever does it) slipped, or if I flinched - I might look like a freak forever. I sure can't imagine having that kind of tattoo removed if it was messed up!

Hello!
I agree with you!
If I have permanent eyeliner tattooed, it would be really convinient!
Because after talking a bath eyeliner is still on my face also
I often wipe under my eyes because of getting black from eyeliners.
but if I had permanent eyeliner tattooed, I woundn't be worried at all:)

I guess I'm too old to appreciate tattoos. I don't want anything on my body that nature didn't put there. If you change your mind when you're older it's hard to undo the mistake

I had a neighbor who, when she was young, had her eyebrows permanently removed and then drew them on. She looked like a clown when older because she couldn't see well enough to draw them on straight.

I did have my ears pierced because I was always losing clip on earrings.

I have never seen what it looks like and would have to see it first. If it looked too weird I would be so mad. I have sometimes thought of getting permanent eyebrows since mine have now gone gray and I have to put dark eyebrows on every day!!

I have that, too! It did hurt, but is well worth it! And it isn't permanent. It fades over time so you need to get boosters. I also know people who do the brows, and they look fantastic! It's like a facelift, but not;) Write me if you have more questions. So I guess I have more than one tattoo....

I wear eye liner, but I've never thought of having permanent eyeliner tattooed. If I didn't do that when I was younger....I don't see me doing anything like that now. I've never had any tattoos...just the old boring pierced ears. Sorry I can't be much help Bear....

Please Bear, don't do it please please please don't. I've seen it on some women and it looks awful. How long does it take to use a pencil or better yet, grey/black powder on a straight brush.
Of course it's going to hurt. I had four injections on my forehead and that was bad enough...imagine being stung by a bee on your face, and you'd need more than one. Oh don't do it, please please don't. I'm nearly in tears.

The Post title being "A question for the Ladies", I almost didn't read the post, but glad I did. My niece Tish is a professionally trained Cosmetic Tattoo-ist, and I am sure she can answer all your questions. ( Her blog link is on my page, under Family and Friends.)

Bear, I forgot to say, when they were going to do my eyeliner, they took a q-tip and spread some deadening stuff over my eyelid so I think the pain would have been o.k. had I not chickened out.

Yikes - no sense in having a needle one doesn't need! From reading all these responses - it would scare me out of it.

Please keep us updated!

It would be convenient but the thought of that invasive stuff so close to my eyeball scares me silly.
Eyeliner and eyebrow pencil sure would be cheaper too.
Don't have any tattoos, just one ear pierce in each ear.

I want a tattoo ... I just dont want to sit through getting it... now if they'd put me out with a little nitrous oxide or even twilight sleep I am so there .. meanwhile I will keep using those tattoos that wear off ..

i didn't think my tat was painful, but i can't imagine having anything done near my eyes. otoh, pain is relative. i'd rather have a maid and line my own eyes. ;)

Do you like the way Michael Jackson's permanent eyeliner looks? (I don't but then he is just plain freaky looking period) and needles near my eyes is NOT a happening thing....but good luck if you decide it is for you.....I would imagine as the eye wrinkles as we get older, it would look funny, though.
