Cyber Monday

Today is "Cyber Monday," a term coined by the trade group National Retail Federation in 2005 to describe the Monday after the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.
*
Today is the unofficial kickoff for the busy online retail season. I do not *cyber shop* for Christmas gifts myself but I was wondering how many of you do your Christmas shopping this way.
*
And if you do *cyber shop* is it to avoid the crowds in the busy stores or because you are getting good bargains by shopping this way?

I love shopping online. It saves gas and I find great bargains -- especially on eBay.

I usually send packages from Barnes and Noble to my grandsons.

I select the gifts. They wrap them and send them. It works.

I've shopped on line on occasion, but not that often. I kind of like seeing things in person. I did get a couple of things this year for Christmas that I couldn't find in the stores...it's very handy that way and it saves running around all over the place.....I like that. It does kind of open up a 'whole new world.'

I have not shopped at all yet, and I would be afraid that the goods would not arrive on time. Definately have to make a move very soon.

I do most of my shopping online. I hate crowds.

Not just for the holidays but for all types of shopping.

Hi bear, thanks for popping by my blog :) I love shopping online because I can find lots of unique hand made gifts that you'd not find in the stores. Big beary Hugs, Catherine and the bears x

It's so easy finding things on line - but if the postage is more than what I want to buy, I can't bring myself to purchase it.

I'd say about half of our Christmas shopping is done on-line. It's mostly for convenience. Much easier to find things on the internet; just a quick search, a click, and TA-DA!

However, I'm one of the few who really doesn't much mind a crowded store this time of year. I find that most folks are in a pretty decent frame of mind and willing to be extra-nice. Some aren't, certainly, but most.

I rarely do any kind of shopping on line. I like to see what I'm getting
before I hand out money.
But I don't get into crowds at Christmas either. I buy things a few at a time over several months. Only Stocking stuffers wait til the end.

On line shopping is a great relaxed way of shopping. However you need to know what your looking for and buying (sizes for example), works for clothes at least for myself and those I know to buy for, but still have to shop in real stores for items like shoes which I need to try on for fit and feel.

I'm not a big cyber shopper but will do it occasionally. This year I'm trying to shop local mom and pop's when I can. Our local mayor is asking people not to shop online and to shop locally to boost the local economy. (which is kind of funny since it is a very affluent area but people are struggling everywhere.)

I have a little something for you over at my site. :-)

Bear, I live 45 miles from the nearest mall, and cyber shopping has been a god-send, especially with gas prices being what they are. It saves the frustration of having to drive there, find parking, get out, hope that what you are looking for is in stock, if it isn't, then get back in the car and drive some more, rinse and repeat.

I do not necessarily save money other than the gas money and TIME and patience required. This is almost exclusively related to how remote we are from the city.

Also? I forgot about Cyber Monday. I had a CyberSaturday myself, because I had the time. CyberMonday I had to spend in the office all day long....

I rarely shop on-line. I need to touch and feel things. Oh, and see them up close, of course. Sometimes I order books, but that's about it.
Happy Shopping!

I cybershop until I drop. I hate crowds and do my best shopping at 2 a.m. and for some reason, not many stores will accommodate my schedule.

BTW, I've got something for you at my place too, but it's not an award and you don't have to pass anything along. :)

I've only bought tickets on-line. I've never really trusted e-bay. But my daughter gets gets of bargains and thinks I'm too nervous.

I have never shopped online - I think I like the crowds and busyness of the malls!
