I'm Going Shopping

I would like to thank every one for your helpful comments to my fashion question from yesterday. I really appreciate your input.
*
I had my husband read what every one said----and he has decided to take me shopping for something new and more colourful for our anniversary portrait!
My black lace dress is lovely and I have only worn it once but then I started to have second thoughts about wearing it for the photograph.
*
The thing about me is that I have an extremely long neck and the lace dress has a low scooped neckline which definitely shows off the length of my neck. Knowing how sensitive I am about this, I would probably not be happy with the finished photo.
*
So I am going to see if I can find another dress with a higher neckline in a brighter colour.
If I can't find a suitable dress then my next choice would be this sporty outfit here which is shown in the photo below.
These are the colours that look good on me when I am wearing them.
*
Do you all remember a few years back when everyone had their "Colours" done?
I am an Autumn.
*
We have a Bianca Nygård store near home, so I can try this outfit on at the store and not have to order it through the web store.
Now if I could just order the model's youthful complexion then I would be one happy lady.

This is an interesting post. Not because I can related to anything but because it is well thought out.

ALso, I don't know if you are interested or not or if you have ever seen a Pileated Woodpecker, but I posted one on My Birds Blog this morning. It is our largest woodpecker and this is the first one I have seen here in 46 years.

OH CUTE! I love that outfit. I want her thighs and hips too. Also her lineless face. Oh and her hair. :)

Yes, I'll take her mid-section/waistline. And hair.

The outfit is very stylish. I am sure your portrait will be stunning.

Is it a sitting or standing portrait?

I havent read the other suggestions but I will say this ... buy something comfortable, stylish/flattering and that you will get use of later ... I am sure your black dress is lovely but it doesnt get used often so dont add the new one to that.

AND if you are planning to get your make up done .. go to wherever your plan to go on that day and buy some lipstick or blush and ask for a make over .. tell them your plans for the photo .. I think test driving the make up is as important as the dress because you dont want to look like anyone but you ... and in my experience make up artists tend to over do it ...

Oh, I really like this outfit. Hope it works well for you. You will look stunning . Of course it would be great if the figure and the hair and flawless complection went with the purchase...

Good luck with the shopping trip. Pity you are not in Toronto as OH is an accomplished make-up artist! Daryl is right, get a trial run, then go back on the day and buy some bits and have it done again.

I am one who appreciates "autumn" colors---the model in the pic looks quite elegant---now if she just had a "tippi Hendren" hair do, she would be perfect---it sounds to me your definitely on the right track for the right outfit for the portrait.
