Yes it is ABC Wednesday over at Mrs. Nesbitt's place.
Just head over there to learn how to particapate.
*
*
Here in Canada we pronounce the letter Z as ZED.
*
In the United States it is pronounced ZEE.
*
However it is pronounced, when you see a string of ZZZZ's the impression that you get is that snoring is involved.
*
That is because ZZZZ's is an onomatopoeia for snoring.
*
From Wickepedia:
"Onomatopoeia is a word or a grouping of words that imitates the sound it is describing, suggesting its source object such as "click," "bunk", "clang," "buzz," "bang," or animal noises such as "oink", "slurp", or "meow".
*
*
Whatever it describes, when I hear the sound of ZZZZZ's I know my husband is snoring and someone (him) is going to get poked in the rib cage.
*
ZZZZZZZZZ

Night All.

We pronounce it 'ZED' too in England although I've noticed lately that we are becoming more and more Americanised with ZEE's and Proms and other things I can't remember at the moment. (7 am in England... I'm still in my PJ's)
I wondered if you would like to read an old entry of mine which ties in with your entry perfectly?

I hope my link works, I feel your (snoring) pain.
Great Z post! And the snoring business? I, too, feel your pain.
And yes, I should have guessed you would have a Z-bear...
Hope you are enjoying a great Z day...
Best regards, Don
Nice take on the letter Zed as we say here in England!
Your husband has my full support!!
ZZZZZZZZZZZ
PS In Norway we say Zett (or Sett)
Lovely ..
I dont know why you couldnt see my pix and others can .. I assume its Bogger messing with me ...

Cute post, and thanks for the information. I usually just poke my husband and he stops snoring, but then he'll say he doesn't snore :)
I didn't realise till today you were in my second home Canada!
Zed is right.
But, as you've already seen I had to go with Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
As a bear lover I love sneaking over to see you.
And all this time I thought you pronounced it ZEE as well.
Glad you liked my post on the reverse countdown.
Do keep in touch. I'll be home in about a day and a half .....
Perfect z post! I didn't know that about z's pronunciation in other countries.
What a fun post! Your sleeping bear is simply adorable! This "zzz" thing reminded me of something funny that happened at home: my mom spent some days with me, she's 74 and snors when sleeping. So one morning Lucas woke up early, and as my husband doesn't snors, he never heard it before. When he heard her snoring out loud, he said to me, afraid: "mom, she's growling!" I had to wake her up to tell about it, and she couldn't stop laughing and neither could I! hehehe
Kisses from Nydia.
PS: we pronounce Z here in Brazil as "za".
Good information for the letter Z!
Oh, your bears are so cut all of them! I love the Z-bear..
ZED is the correct pronunciation depite Bill Gates and Microsoft trying to "Americanise" our spelling.
the Canadian,Zellers department store have a teddy bear called "Zeddy"
Great, great, great! What a clever creative post! Yes, we say 'zed' here in Oz, except for the kids brought up on Sesame Street who insist on saying 'zeeee'.
Aw so cute! I happen to have a teddy bear that really snores! If you move it, it makes a snoring sound. Great idea and very unique for today. Love it! :)
This is a creative post on z and informative to. I had completely forgotten what Onomatopoeia meant.

Cute Z post. I am ready to catch some zzzz's. Hubby is already snoring.
Nicely done and with a language lesson and poetry lesson as well.
What a smart bear, all ready for bed.
I snore; Husband denies he does. (But he does.)
I like the z's on Zachary's feet.
Zed! too!
Great post! Hmm snoring eh?
LOL!
Looking forward in seeing you in Round 3!
Sweet snoring bear. I love your bear entries and yes, I'm raring to go on round 3.
