The Care Bears keep watch over Earth to keep bad feelings from spreading.
They live in the Cloud filled land of Care-a-Lot and descend to earth in their Cloud-Cars whenever some lonely boy or girl needs a smile or hug.

So much information. I too have heard of the care bears but wasn't aware of the background history.
Great stuff!
ahh.. so cute.. And I am from 1981 too.. :o)
Care Bears, of course! My daughter had a yellow one...
Thanks for visiting my blog and reminding me another "c" could have been conduit! :>)
I remember when these sweet bears came out. They are a beautiful series. Good choice for C.
i never realised just how many care bears there actually were
Martha and I used to own an antique collectible's store and we sold a lot of these little fellows. A lot of folks came in looking for vintage bears.
Thanks for this interesting information.
Very thorough and well done.
Thanks for the visit,
Troy and Martha
A Bear history lesson! ;)
Though I find those Care Bears a tad too sweet for my taste! (No offense)
Cheers, Klaus
They were so popular in Brazil on the 80s! But still loved by many little kids up to now! Lovely C post!
Kisses from Nydia.
Perfect choice for your "C"! My daughters, now in their twenties, both had Care Bears--I think the pink and blue. Now they're coming back again, and my granddaughter has one. Wish I'd kept the originals!
Thanks for visiting.
We bought one each for our two eldest daughters, but I can't remember there were that many!
Time flies...
Oh, I remember the care bears! My daughter had them. Ahh.
I loved them but didn't really know what they stood for..sk
helping you with your own language:
china:
a fine white or translucent vitrified ceramic material.
bone ash
the mineral residue of calcined bones, used chiefly in the production of bone china and fertilizers.
&
fine china made of clay mixed with bone ash.
:)
That´s what ABC Wednesday is for
I bearly know what to say.. :)
I want/ need a bedtime bear!
Oh how I love the Care Bears. Perfect for the letter C.
Thank you, Bear, for your kind comments on my last post. I sure do need Cheer Bear to come visit me for a bit. LOL. My son will eventually act like nothing at all happened and I'll be expected to just "forget" about it.....which I've done so many times. This time its not going to be so easy....although I won't hold a grudge...they only make you ugly. Have a happy day!
I Care...I remember these but my kids were too big for them when they came out.
Great choice for the letter C.
Wow, I always thought there was only ONE care bear---and that depending of the occassion he changed costumes----will live and learn as they say.

And I thought ALL bears cared ... my fav bear was the one my late Mom got to hug after her heart surgery ... we still have it.

I barely know my bears, so thanks for filling me in...
Best regards, and hope you are enjoying a fine ABC Wednesday! Don.
Wow! did you bring back the memories for me, with a smile. My daughters both had their share. Erica, who was born in 1981,& her favorite was Funshine & just recently she gave a new Wish Bear to her big sister Audrey (whose first was Cheer Bear) when she was in the hospital. So the tradition continues.
Thanks for sharing!!
Happy Wednesday.
I bought several Care Bears books and kept them for my grandchildren to read when they're old enough. Noah even has his own Care Bear now!
My daughter loves Care Bears...I didn't realize there were so many!
Care Bears are very special to me because in the 80's my husband and I raised Manx cats. Our cattery name was BearsDen and I bought Care Bears to sit on top of the various cages and used Care Bear material for pillows and curtains for the cages.
It was a lot of fun reading about these very wonderful bears. I had really forgotten a lot of the symbolism.
Wow - I didn't think there were so many Carebears! I remember the CareBears - they are so sweet. My kids had them. And they are still in toy shops.
I had a Care Bear as a child - I think it was Tender Heart Bear, if I recall correctly. :)
I didn't realize there were so many of them. Great post!
ha, another cute post from you, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your visit and your kind comment.
In France, "care bears" were very popular too, and they were called "Bisounours ", that is to say:
Bisou(s) (= Kiss(es) )+ nounours =Teddy bear
My daughter, who was born in 1979-had a yellow one,(Funshine, according to your informations, but I don't remind the french translation )
miss Yves
Very cute!
My C contribution is here. Hope you enjoy the pictures of Laos.
I love the care bears! Use to love the old tv show. Especially the care bear cousins! That's a cute Cheer Bear pic you got there.
I didn't know all that about the care bears! I love the rainbow tum ;-)
My daughter loves bears and still has all her bears she's collected since she was small. If I remember correctly, she has a half dozen of these!
