No News is Good News

Have you ever had one of those mornings that make you just want to crawl back into bed with the covers over your head?
Those days when you feel turned inside out?
When you say to yourself “I am never reading the news again!”

Well today was that day for me.

Could someone out there please explain what is happening in my country, Canada?

I read about this happening in Manitoba and this in Québec.

In Calgary, Alberta a beaten man dies on steps of home.

Closer to home in Ontario there was a case of mistaken identity and a man is savagely beaten.

I can not understand why we have become such a violent society.

Is there something-- anything that I personally could or should do?

I am feeling very sad and vulnerable so I'm grabbing a teddy bear, getting back into bed beside Ted E and probably will shed a few tears.

Shower and Shampoo

Today I have the dressing and staples removed from my
shoulder after the July 21st Surgery.
*
*
*
*
It has been a long ten days recuperating but I am not taking as many pain pills now as I had at the beginning so I guess I'm having less pain. Which is good.
*
*
*
*
Trying to just walk around the house with the Polar Cub has been very difficult so needless to say all I have been doing is a whole lot of sitting.
*
I can now fall asleep with only four pillows propped on the bed instead of the eight that I was using to sit up in the bed.
*
The best thing though that is going to happen IMMEDIATELY after I get home is the shampoo and shower that I have planned.
*
Ted E went shopping and I now have a good supply of my favourite bath and shower products.
*
My preferred face soap is Dove - pro•age - Beauty Bar and for the body wash I use Dove- pro•age - Beauty Body Wash.
*
*
I started using the Dove pro.age products about a year ago.
They have a lovely scent and have been specifically formulated for women my age.
*
But the main reason I started to use these products is because the company uses mature women in their advertising campaigns. Real women just like you and me.
*
I despise a company advertising a product that is supposed to appeal to mature women and having a 22 or 23 year old model in the ad campaign.
*
Kudos to the Dove company for realizing that we women are not stupid.
We have mirrors and know that we look and are different than when we were younger.
Too bad so many other companies do not understand.
*
This afternoon if your water pressure is too low, blame it all on me.
I am planning on taking a LONG shower ALL afternoon .

Need A Geek

Ted E Bear and I are not the most technical savvy boomers in the world and yesterday we found out that the younger generation really do not have a lot of patience with us.
Last September we purchased an LCD television on sale at our local Sony store and had problems with the remote control for it right from the beginning. A short time later, just before going away for our annual trip to Mexico, we went back to the same store to get some batteries for the digital camera that we had purchased at this same store. (One of MANY things we have bought there.)
Ted E mentioned at that time about our problems with the remote and the salesman suggested that we bring it back in to the store after coming back from Mexico.
Yesterday morning we finally got around to checking on the Sony store website and found out that the remote we were given was not the correct one for that TV. So we went to the store yesterday and the YOUNG salesman who had originally sold us the TV was disgusted that it took us so long to come back and want to get the CORRECT remote.
So we are feeling that maybe what we need is a technical Geek around here to help us out (and maybe teach us how to use the DVD properly.)

The bear facts--the beginning

Hello everyone out in the world of blogging.

Today I decided that now was the perfect time for me to start my blog.

It wasn't too difficult to set up and I will probably be tweaking some parts for a little while.

This is how I felt when I first decided that I would start my blog but now
