Tagged #2

This past Wednesday, Kay from Kay's Thinking Cap tagged me with a Meme.
*
She had been tagged by Gary from Threescore Plus Ten and she passed it on to me.
*
I promised her once I was feeling a bit better from my surgery that I would give her my answers to the questions.
*
I only learned about the word Meme when I started blogging this past March.
*
Being the inquisitive type of person that I am, I had to find out exactly what a Meme is and how it got started.
*
*
From Wiktionary the definition of meme is:
"Any unit of cultural information, such as a practice or idea, that is transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another.
The word meme first came into popular use with the publication of Richard Dawkins' book “The Selfish Gene” in 1976."
*
1976!!! How did I miss that one.
*
Here are my answers to Gary and Kay’s questions:
*
*
1. What is your favourite quotable line from a movie?
*
Mine are 6 lines from the movie “Pretty Woman.”
*
Shop assistant: ” Hello, can I help you?”
Vivian: ” I was in here yesterday, you wouldn't wait on me.”
Shop assistant: ” Oh.”
Vivian: “You people work on commission, right?”
Shop assistant: “Yeah.”
Vivian: “Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.”
*
*
2. Who is the most famous person you have spoken to?
*
No one, nada, nobody, zilch.
What can I say, I am a boring Canadian.
*
*
3. How many bags/boxes of Potato Chips are consumed at your place in a month?
*
Less than one.
*
*
4. Who is your all time favorite Cartoon Character?
*
Donald Duck. What can I say, I'm a sucker for his voice.
When I was young, teenage boys could REALLY impress me by talking in a Donald Duck voice.
I know, how pathetic is that.
*
*
5. What foreign food dish do you prepare from scratch and serve?
*
I don’t cook. If I am invited to a pot luck dinner, I always bring the pickle tray.
Ted E, on the other hand, will spend days researching and experimenting with recipes.
*
*
6. What is your favorite section of the Supermarket?
*
The condiments aisle. (See above.)
*
*
7. What was your high school team’s mascot and what were the school's colours?
*
We didn't have a mascot but the school colours were green and gold.
*
*
I am not going to tag anyone specifically but if you want to do the Meme on your blog, leave a comment here and I will be sure to check it out.

Donald Duck is great, I'd be very impressed if you could do an impersonation.

1976? That word's been around that long? I think I only figured out what it was last week!

Well, I've never met anyone famous, and I eat few if any potato chips (but love 'em). Nothing else I can agree with there.

Please stop by my blog. There is something there for you.

Dear BearNaked,

I confess to being a meme party pooper. Just not clever enough, I guess, to come up with snappy answers. I do, however, love the ones you put down--especially the lines from Pretty Woman.
Glad to learn you're feeling better and hope you heal 100% and get back to your beary best self!

There was a reference to 'boring' canadians on tv recently. I simply don't understand where that idea came from. More people should read your blog. It's a delight - and certainly never boring!
